The SuitsThe costumes are extremely well-designed and hilariously comic because of their cartoon proportions which evoke a whole range of memories and images for the audience. Each costume is fitted with 20-odd lights of various sizes, colours and shapes that ensure the Astronauts create a stunning spectacle at any twilight or evening function. Inside the suits, the performers heads' are also lit, and small red beacons pulse in their ears like electronic gadgetry. The costumes are constructed so that the performers can hide their heads from view - literally becoming headless Astronauts while still running around on two legs. The Astronauts' arms can be disengaged from inside the suit and extended to a whopping 3 metres wide, creating an hilariously surreal couple of characters that are visually spectacular and larger than life. |
